RESIOPAK is a trademark of our metal sheathed resistance thermometer sensor and consists of a stainless steel thin tube (sheath), a conducting wire, the element of the resistance thermometer sensor inside the tube, and an inorganic insulator (MgO) firmly packed and insulated around them. We can manufacture sensors in variations based on this structure according to the purposes of use. RESIOPAK has many excellent features in comparison to the general type (protection tube type) of the resistance thermometer sensors.

Principle of Platinum Resistance Thermometer Sensors

Generally, the electrical resistance of metal changes with the temperature. Especially, the electrical resistance of platinum linearly changes with temperature, and its temperature coefficient is large; therefore, platinum is suitable for temperature measurement. In addition, platinum has excellent characteristics chemically and physically and it is easy to get platinum of industry high purity; therefore, we can use platinum as a resistance element for long term stable temperature measurement. The characteristics have been standardized in JIS and other overseas standards; therefore, temperature measurement with a high accuracy is available.
